We are thrilled to announce that Vepe-Icepro has successfully delivered and installed our innovative LED 360° dasher board system at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York. This marks the first installation of our advanced digital dasher board system in North America, setting a new standard for fan engagement and advertising opportunities in sports arenas.
Revolutionizing the Fan Experience
In December 2024, the Adirondack Bank Center was fitted with our state-of-the-art LED 360° dasher board system, where LED panels are embedded in the dasher boards around the entire rink. This cutting-edge technology enhances the in-game presentation, providing fans with a dynamic and visually stunning experience that no other arena in North America has ever delivered.
Utica Comets President Robert Esche, a former NHL goaltender, expressed his excitement:
“LED boards will not only enhance the fan experience at Utica City FC and Utica Comets games but will also create added value for our partners in their ability to create exciting new messaging at our games. We look forward to bringing these boards to life at our games.”
Unmatched Advertising Capabilities
Our LED 360° boards offer advertising capabilities comparable to the NHL’s digitally enhanced dasherboard (DED) technology. Unlike DEDs, which overlay digital imagery on the telecast for viewers at home, our LED 360° boards display digital content directly in the arena. This allows for rotating sponsors throughout the game and “full takeovers,” where one company gets exclusive branding around the rink.
“Anytime you go digital, there’s just a lot of creativity that goes with it,” said Robert Esche. “Partners want that. They want different campaigns, they want different types of messaging, and when you can change that in real time, where all the eyes are focused on the sport of hockey, I think that lends itself to a monumental uptick [in revenue].”
Looking Ahead
The successful installation at the Adirondack Bank Center is just the beginning. According to Utica Comets leaders, they anticipate that other teams in the AHL and ECHL, as well as NCAA hockey programs, will adopt 360º LED boards in the near future.
